Registration is now open at Village Green Nursery School!

Registration for the upcoming school year at Village Green Nursery School is now beginning! While September may still feel far away, there’s a lot that happens in the months leading up to a new school year. Opening registration early allows families time to plan and helps us prepare for a smooth and successful start.

Are you considering enrolling your child in our Curious Creators program for three- and young four-year-olds? In Connecticut, children must turn 3 by December 31 of the enrollment year. For the 2026–2027 school year, this means your child must turn 3 by December 31, 2026. Please note that children enrolled in a preschool program must be fully potty trained and independent toilet users, as required by the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood Regulations.

Children entering our Joyful Learners program for older four- and five-year-olds must turn 4 by December 31, 2026. With recent changes to Connecticut’s kindergarten entry age—requiring children to be five by September 1 to enter kindergarten (or receive a waiver)—Village Green is adapting its program to support children who may attend preschool for three years instead of two.

Oh my goodness! It’s almost December- and we all know everyone is super busy getting ready for the end of the year. It’s also time to start thinking about registering for nursery school for next year- the 2022-2023 school year.

Does it seem too early to register? Sometimes it does- but there is a lot to do before school starts in September, especially for Teachers and Administrators who have the summer off like we do here at Village Green!

Do you want to register your child for a 3 year old program? In CT, children must turn 3 before December 31 of the year they are enrolling: so for the 2022-2023 school year they must turn 3 before 12/31/22. They also MUST be potty trained. Office of Early Childhood Regulations are very clear: children enrolled in a preschool program must be potty trained and independent toilet users.

Children entering the 4 year old program have a choice between a regular 3 hour day and an extended 4.5 hour day. Many families choose the extended day option to get their child used to a longer day at school. Children in this program must be 4 before 12/31/22. Often we have children in our 4 year old program who qualify for Kindergarten but for numerous reasons their families feel they should wait another year, and so they choose to enroll in our 4 year old preschool program.

If you would like to register for either program open enrollment begins in January 2022. Current families are eligible to enroll in December 2021.
